Diabetic Exercises & Weight Loss

Our customized training programs are part of what make us one of the best fitness centers in NC. Our diabetic exercise programs are designed to help you lose weight so you can better manage your condition. In many cases, pre-diabetic people can keep the full condition at bay by modifying their diet and following a regular exercise schedule.

 

Boot Camp Bonanza

"You are as strong as your weakest link and the same holds true for muscles." Boot Camp Bonanza is an outdoor fitness program that mixes traditional callisthenic and body weight exercises with interval and strength training techniques. This intense workout will push your body harder and will yield results faster, similar to a military boot camp. Our boot camp offers a small group environment in a public outdoor space.

During your first session, you will review class expectations and safety guidelines before performing a basic fitness assessment. A fast warm up will get you ready for intervals of push ups, squats, lunges, speed training such as sprinting, obstacle courses and other exercises designed to get your blood pumping. After a cool down, you'll be amazed at what you've accomplished! Our workout will last approximately one hour from warm up to cool down. At the end of boot camp, you will typically repeat the fitness assessment to determine your results.

The goal of boot camp is not to intimidate you, but to encourage you in reaching fitness goals you didn't think possible. It's also a great way to create a spirit of teamwork and group support. If you are seeking an advanced fitness challenge, turn up the heat with our intense cross training boot camp for men and women.

 

Parkinson's Disease Fitness Programs

Do what everybody does...Exercise. Parkinson's Disease is a degenerative disorder that impairs motor skills, cognitive skills and other functions. Physical symptoms of Parkinson's include tremors, rigid muscles, bradykinesia (general slow movement due to stiffness) and posture problems. Our safe, friendly environment provides group training to support muscle memory, balance, and focus due to progression of these symptoms as we enjoy our favorite music and conversation. This is a great way to keep your muscles and joints loosened, which prevents advancement of other problems that are a result of tremors, muscle rigidity and poor posture. Our motto, "Don't let what you can't do stop you from what you can do!"

 

Special Needs and Rehab Training

If life has given you additional challenges, our programs can help you to regain and step away from the pain. We proudly say we cater to the special needs populations and our programs work closely with physician recommendations to better your conditions and improve quality of life. Our facility is handicap accessible with front door parking, hospital Cybex equipment and individualized shower facilities with handrails and benches.

 

ACTion 4 Aging Adults

ACTion 4 Aging Adults is a senior program that addresses fitness for those who enjoy exercise, those that have never exercised, those with movement disorders and other special needs, and caregivers wanting to enjoy a healthy shared activity that promotes better health. Individuals receive very personalized attention as they participate in movements that help to sustain the quality of life. Activities related to balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion and general well being are designed to help all individuals, "Get Busy--And Stay Active." All are invited to sample a complimentary session to experience the benefits.
